On the evening of the 26th of Febraury 2020, panelists; Adelle Nqeto (a Berlin based South African musican), Cassiane Law (a Berlin based Jamaican American rapper) and Kaleb Coulibaly(an Afro Swed dancer and loctian) engaged in a conversation centered around the turbulent relationship that African communities across the globe share with their hair. During this “Good hair, Black hair!” event, thought provoking conversation, discussion and personal recollections on issues like texture based prejuidices projected on natural hair, black identity and black hair black communities as well as takes on the matter of hair appropriation by other minorities were explored. The evening was draped in laughter, exchange, an impromptu performance by Cassiane, a “Hair therapy” give away and many glasses of the Uganda waragi (a gin) and hibiscus cocktail. The event was moderated by Leku Lorna Queenie, one of the 5 co-mama's of the Isusu Ffena Pan Afrikan collective.
